What size filter does my spa use?

A spa filter is essential to keeping your spa clean. A dirty, clogged or worn out filter can not only damage the hot tub itself by putting stress on the pumps and equipment, but it can allow water to become contaminated and circulate poorly. It’s best to keep spare filters on hand, so you have one when you need it. Each month, you should deep clean your spa’s filter. An alternative to this is to use your spare clean filters to replace it immediately, and clean the dirty filter for later use. This allows uninterrupted use of your hot tub. Once the filter’s pleats are frayed, you want to fully replace the filter.

How Much Space Is Needed To Service Your Spa?

A question we often hear is “how much space is needed around the sides of my spa to access it”. Many customers want to install their spa in the ground, or in a deck, or flush against a wall. This can make hot tub maintenance or repairs a challenge. Because of this, we recommend leaving at least 18 inches in between the spa and any structure for access.

Another thing to consider is your type of spa. We offer hardcover spas where the cover can be easily opened, but it slides to the sides of the spa. For this, we also ask for 18 inches of access. Another concern is our spas with features built into the cabinet such as the built in stairs or towel warmer. If you plan on using these features, you want to plan to leave appropriate room to access those as well.

Why Does My Breaker Keep Tripping?

Important Notice:
All electrical work must be performed by a licensed contractor and approved by a local inspector. The customer is responsible for ensuring compliance with state and local codes, including providing a disconnect in the fixed wiring. Non-compliance can lead to fire or injury.

Breaker Tripping Issues
For newly installed spas, follow these steps:

Check GFCI Wiring
Ensure the spa’s neutral wire is connected directly to the GFCI breaker, not to a neutral bus bar. Improper wiring will prevent the breaker from functioning properly.

Inspect for Leaks
Check inside the spa cabinet for any signs of water leaks. Water on electrical components can cause the breaker to trip.

Test Each Component
Disconnect one component (pump, blower, ozone, lights, stereo, heater) at a time and try resetting the breaker. If the breaker holds after disconnecting a specific component, that component is likely the issue and may need to be replaced.

Test the GFCI Breaker
Disconnect all wires from the spa pack and turn on the breaker. If it still trips with the spa disconnected, the breaker itself may need replacement.

Replace the Spa Pack
If all components work correctly and the breaker holds when the spa is disconnected, the spa pack may need to be replaced. Contact us for assistance.
